Located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, this popular park offers hiking, camping and other activities. The Sequoia Dome is a large tent offering the ultimate glamping experience near General Sherman Tree. Other attractions include numerous trails and scenic views of the giant sequoias.
I visited end of April, there was melting snow at the top of the mountain. It was OK to drive, but to walk to Sherman tree, a pair and waterproof boots and rain jacket would be nice to have. The roads are very well maintained, lots of pockets along the way on both sides.

Sequoia National Park is an extraordinary place to visit, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the great outdoors. The park is located in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, and it is home to some of the most majestic and ancient trees in the world, including the famous General Sherman tree, which is the largest tree by volume in the world. One of the main attractions in Sequoia National Park is hiking, and there are trails suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. The trails range from easy walks through the Giant Forest to strenuous climbs up to the high country. The scenery is breathtaking, and the wildlife is abundant, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for bears, deer, and other animals as you explore.Another must-see attraction in the park is Moro Rock, a granite dome that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The climb up to the top of Moro Rock is steep and requires some physical exertion, but the panoramic views from the top are well worth the effort. In addition to the natural wonders of Sequoia National Park, there are also several historic sites to explore, including the Giant Forest Museum, which provides an excellent overview of the park's ecology and history. There are also several campgrounds and lodges within the park, making it easy to plan a multi-day visit and fully immerse yourself in the park's beauty.Overall, Sequoia National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and the great outdoors. The park's stunning scenery, ancient trees, and abundant wildlife make it a truly unforgettable experience.

Beautiful Park!! So peaceful.. loved being among those beautiful trees. There is no signal for cellphones which made it more in tuned with nature. Truly recommend experiencing this once in your life.

My goodness! Absolutely stunning, rich history, and the trees are amazingly huge! A bit surprised that the entrance is 35, and there's no pet "allowed" on the trail. However, the rangers are understanding, and told me, "even though you carry him, next time you're here, pet's are not allowed." So, if anyone wants to bring your furry friends, leave them at home. But it's definitely worth the drive here.

I had a great experience visiting Sequoia National Park. The park is absolutely stunning, and the giant sequoia trees are truly awe-inspiring. I hiked the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail, which was a moderate hike but offered some amazing views. I also camped in the park, and the scenery was incredible. There is a large waterfall about 2 miles from the campground that is not too difficult to visit. The river next to the campground was also high with flowing water. I would definitely recommend Sequoia National Park to anyone looking for a beautiful and unforgettable outdoor experience."

Sequoia National Park is a true gem of the Sierra Nevada, where towering sequoia trees and stunning mountain scenery create a magical atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Walking among these ancient giants is an awe-inspiring experience that fills you with a sense of reverence for the natural world. The park offers a variety of trails for all skill levels, from leisurely strolls among the trees to challenging hikes with breathtaking vistas. For future visitors, I highly recommend taking the time to explore the General Sherman Tree, the largest living tree on Earth, and marvel at its sheer size and majesty. Additionally, don't miss the opportunity to drive through the famous Tunnel Log, a fallen sequoia that you can actually drive your car through—an experience that's both exhilarating and unique.

Fantastic atmosphere! I wish I could stay there longer, better to spend overnight there, because there is a lot to see. And especially if you love hiking. There is water, public toilets, some shops, gift shop, dining and lodges available. Weather was beautiful when we arrived, but sometimes it could get cold, so better to take warm clothes just in case. Elevation is above 7000 ft. But that’s must see place definitely.

Absolutely loved it.The hike to the General Sherman was easy, the hike back up, not so much. The trees are really big and cool, definitely one of the things you need to see before you leave this world (provided you're not immortal). No phone service within a few miles of the park, which is amazing to those with phone addictions.

If you want to take a fantastic walk through the woods, this is where you need to go. The views are beyond words. So many wonderful things to see. The trees and mountains, and wildlife. The experience is one that you will remember for a lifetime. It's an amazing walk, you truly will enjoy. If you have never felt small after your stroll through the tree you will. Have a picnic and take in all of the beauty.

National Parks never disappoint and Sequoia was epic. The trees were majestic!! Pictures don’t show the beauty of these trees nestled within a great belt of coniferous forest, jeweled with mountain meadows. The trails are inviting and provide a variety of ways to view the trees. They’ve created some paths that make it accessible for handicap. Restrooms are throughout the park and information centers. On our exiting the park, we saw a bear by the road. It’s was exciting and terrifying. I recommend packing a lunch and having a picnic.

They were doing controlled burns so there was a little smoke but my goodness it was absolutely beautiful! Winter is comming and it's quickly cooling down. Night time is getting very cold even though the sunny days have been warm.

One of the most beautiful national parks that I have ever been to! Lots of breathtaking views and enormous trees that are out of this world. There will be stops where you and take pictures. Really recommend visiting “General Sherman” Tree, as it is the largest tree in the world. Hiking to General Sherman is easy (downward hike), but hiking back up to the parking lot was the tough part. The roads are narrow and saw deers crossing the road, please take care when driving. If you are driving an electric car, be sure to have enough mileage for the drive as there is only 1 Tesla destination charger (not supercharger). There is an admission fee of $35 (on 11/24/2023) that is good for 1 week. Recommend coming in early in the morning to avoid the long line of cars entering the park.

I am considering a visit during the summer, although I tend to find myself there during the winter season. It is undoubtedly a destination worth experiencing! The majestic towering trees, with their age-old presence, are sure to leave a lasting impression.

Wow! We knew we’d love seeing these spectacular trees but seeing them in person is so different. Take the time to come see them! The trails we did were easy and well marked. We came in mid May when the crowds weren’t crazy. Perfect weather!

The scenery is beautiful and for the most part peaceful the further you come across other people. The national park is awesome and has so much to offer. Tons to trail, see, learn , and do. Enjoy it while it is present

Truly a magical experience. You feel like you’re in a story book being in the giant forest. It’s about an hour drive though switchbacks to get up to the Sequoias. You’ll be driving up an elevation of 6,000ft. We enter though Three Rivers, cutes little town before getting into the Park. Stop at the visitor center before entering the park to use the bathroom. The park has a great bus system for crowd control. Visited during mid-July. Suggest packing snacks or your own lunch. They have several picnic areas. The park was dog friendly.

Amazing National Park! The giant trees are unfathomably beautiful and words cannot describe their majestic sight. The many groves of Sequoias are awesome and the General Sherman is awe inspiring. The park has ample parking early in the morning, but fills quickly later in the day. Trails are well done and give great views of the non-stop scenery. Spent two days here with the family and could have easily spent more time lying in the forest with the trees. Definitely recommend!

Took the family on vacation to see California and one our our stops was Sequoia National Park. It is amazing and the trees are majestic. We went in the winter, might want to try the summer next time, The snow and ice were on the mountains which added to the beauty and the cost. The cost increased because you need to have snow chains to come into the park. If you don’t have the you have to rent then at around $100. We rented them but never used them. Go early because the park is crowded and the parking at the main attractions is limited. Man places to stop and take pictures of these 2000 year old trees. Caution it is straight up the mountain, so you won’t see the big trees until you get to 4000-5000 feet about 1 hour into the drive once in the park. If you’ve never been at high altitudes bring lots of water and maybe some Dramamine. Once we hit 7000 feet my jus started to feel sick so had to turn around. The Mountain View’s are outstanding and you could walk and take pictures all day. “Beware of Bear” Enjoy!

Part of the National Park system and completely worth it. Beautiful trees, landscapes, and the famous General Sherman tree. The road in between the sequoia entrance and kings canyon is closed so you’ll have to drive to the kings canyon other entrance. Well worth the visit!

Wow. Pictures do NOT do it justice. Give yourself lots of time to explore. Take the stairs up Moro rock - beautiful way to catch the sunset. Parking can be a challenge so be prepared to walk from various parking spots. Trails are well defined and ready to walk. I have some walking difficulty and used a hiking stick and was fine.

This forest is a wonder and privilege to see. To be able to witness what mother nature has done beyond our lifetime is beyond words to describe here. This is something you must witness for yourselves. We could spend months in this Nation Park and still be under its captivating beauty each day.

Amazing park. Not as big as Yosemite, but just as pretty. Less crowded and bigger trees! General Sherman was cool but as you can see driving a pick up through a tree tells you how big the Sequoia’s are.

I love this place. Spent there 2 days and enjoyed every second. These trees are so amazing. The way of growing, how they survive fire. When you touch these monarchs, they are soft. This smell. Amazing.Definitely a must.

A picturesque place that is sure to take your breadth away. The giant sequoia trees are a must see if you’re in the area. For us, this was well worth the drive up to these snowy slopes.

This place is just ridiculously beautiful. The trees are absolutely massive, as expected. The trails are well-kept. The shuttle is semi useful but it's not enough for how busy the park can get. The parking lots are very busy and people park all over the roads. Still, this doesn't take away from how amazing this park is. Just show up around 6am to beat a lot of the crowds.

Sequoia National Park is an amazing place and a must see destination. We traveled from Georgia to see these beautiful trees and were not disappointed. The trees in the park are the largest in the world and most are 2,000-3,000 years old! The hike down and back to see General Sherman and the others was intense, especially the steep hike back, but there were plenty of benches to rest on and the experience was very worth it. I would recommend going early because we got parking at the visitor center and trail with no problem at 9 am, but the park had filled up after our hike and there was no parking to be found anywhere. Overall, a great park and unforgettable experience. The trees are truly a magical piece of history!

Beautiful national park! Loved the fact that they offer shuttles within the park so you can park at one spot and go around the park without having to worry about parking. They also have shuttles from Visalia you the park. Very convenient! Very beautiful. Do the Moro Rock climb on a clear day for a beautiful view. We didn’t have a clear day.

Such an amazing and breath taking drive! Beautiful views around every corner, and the drive is almost all hair pin turns! The sequoia trees…”The Giants I mean!” blew my mind at their grandiosity!! I drove thru early morning and the fog was surrounding the trees which made for an even more epic experience! Oh and climbing the path up the Moro Rock was super exciting and worth it!

The sequía experience is a bucket list must do. Gigantic trees are unreal, I never expected the awesome feeling standing like a small insect in front of the biggest tree in the world would feel so good. Amazing. Lots of people need patience, but it's worth all the effort.

Beautiful place. We went in June and it was a bit warm like in the high 80’s. They charged $35 per car and we could be there all day. I do recommend you bring your own food and drink because they don’t really sell food inside. They do have water so you can refill your water-bottle. We didn’t see any wildlife and I believe animals are not allowed on the trail. There are restrooms, but they are not very clean, at least not when we were there. There is a shuttle that can take you up to the parking area or to the museum after the trail so you don’t have to walk up the tiring walk. The ride is free and it was very helpful. Overall we had a good time and the atmosphere was nice. There were people, but it was not overcrowded today, Monday.

Enjoyed my second visit to sequoia, entrance fee $35, traveling through was a little scary as you very high up and around cliff side but the views are stunning. Highly recommend getting and refueling before entering the park because there’s no where to get gas once you get through the entrance.Closest waterfall was 1.7 miles and we got to dip in the natural pool, chilly but super refreshing after a hot day! I recommend visiting the museum on the way out as there’s less traffic, but keep in mind that they close at 6 pm. Restrooms in the picnic area despite not being labeled on the maps.

Awesome.Park with the most amazing trees You'll ever see anywhere, way worth it To hike to go see these big trees, including the general Sherman tree. But the real gem of these places are the swimming holes in the rivers that run through here at hospital flat and other areas. You must climb down to the water and get in there. It's so awesome. You must be because it is a bit dangerous but the watering holes slow down and make little pools and it's great, tons of waterfalls. This park is really great. 👌

This was a beautiful place to visit it was snowing when we visited & 37°.Snow chains are required install them on your vehicle before you visit to test so it's done with ease latter on site at 5000 ft or so .They do sell snow chains on site but it's good to have a set before you arrive just in case they are sold out .In the summer this will not be a concern.Call ahead certain parts of the park you may want to visit sometimes close for the winter .Be very careful where you take your pictures some of these places can be dangerous .Hope you enjoy it as much as me & my daughter did ❤

Beautiful park with majestic Giant Sequoia trees and panoramic views. Despite the devastating wildfire several years ago, many of the Sequoias are alive and well. In some areas you can see that the fire passed through the ancient groves, but many trees withstood the fire.

Lovely place to visit!!! I stayed in Three Rivers. I recommend all the popular giant Sequoia trees. There was a longer wait to take a picture in front of General Sherman than General Grant. Moro rock was great too but if you are deathly afraid of heights you may want to skip. Boyden Cavern was awesome, I recommend bringing a small flashlight. There are also 2 waterfalls to check out near the cavern: Grizzly falls and roaring river falls. Finally I recommend downloading offline maps and checking YouTube for other things to see and do.

This place is magical. The majesty is hard to capture in words. This is a place I wanted to visit for years, but it exceeded my expectations. It is a drive to get to, and there is not much to see until you start up the mountain, but once you do, the nature wonders are amazing. The Rangers are the visitor station are friendly and knowledgeable. They provided excellent guidance, based on what you what to see and there is plenty. We stop at all of the little look out points. From the visitor station to the giant trees is about a half hour, to General Sherman, the largest tree on the planet, it is another 15 minutes. Be prepared, because it take a minute to wrap your mind around the visual input your brain is processing. It is like a firmware update. The second tallest tree in the world, the General Grant, is on the other side of the park, about 30 -45 minutes.

Park is beautiful, Sequoias are HUGE!!!Very scenic drive and decent hikes. Definitely recommend Congress Trail.Unfortunately, when i was there. The park is pretty much covered with smoke due to forest fire nearby, but it was not too bad and i still managed to get some good pictures.

Man what a great experience. Getting away from city noise, buildings, cell phone service, it was great. Followed a river that we heard from our campground and ended up finding a cool wooden bridge (a little sketchy). Also took home a natural souvenir of a bird’s beak that was stuck into a piece of bark I miraculously found. Deer walked right through campsite one morning. Great National Park!

One of the best family vacations we had. Didn't realize how huge this national park is! But it was beyond worth the 4 hour drive from our hotel to see those magnificent giants! You won't get through this national park. Took us all day to her half way through. But it was just scene after scene of amazing breathtaking natural beauty! 😍

This place was amazing! Seeing the floor of clouds that stretch across the mountains when you get to an elevation of 6,000 ft is breathtaking! The Sequoia's are massive!! It was a real treat for me and my family to be able to witness. Even the drive through the mountains to get there is beautiful! I would recommend this destination to anyone who enjoys nature and beautiful landscapes.

How does one explain the majesty, beauty, depth of scale of the sequoias? It’s impossible! First time back here since I was a child and, unlike everything else from my childhood—the trees, the forest actually seemed bigger, more beautiful, more grand, more majestic than I remembered. Extraordinary opportunity to walk among the giants and realize just how small we are. We are but a wisp, a vapor on the timeline of earth’s history…a reminder that we aren’t ’all that’!

what an experience being amongst these giants. You can feel the energy, the peace and the wisdom of everything that they’ve seen. You can also see the natural burns that the Rangers do in order to control the fires inside the park. This is a mess if you’re in California worth the ride the views along the highways are amazing. Graceful, gentle Giants. come feel the peace❤️

Beautiful national park! I was not a fan of the drive in or out of the park but I’m terrified of heights. Roads were nice throughout the park. Only hiked to General Sherman Tree but the trail was paved and nice.

GO! This place is majestic. From the park rangers to the scenic view, everything was memorable. But let’s talk trees 👀🌲- can’t say enough about how amazing it was to see what Mother Nature created at the top of the mountain; just incredible! The bathrooms could use more attention but as busy as that place is, I’m sure it’s a chore just to keep it going.

Incredibly beautiful and amazing. We went during mid-March and a lot of it was closed off. We wanted to do Moro Rock and the Generals Highway, but the roads were closed off. We look forward to returning during a time of year when it is all open. Make sure you get gas before going in. And we had a hard time finding bathrooms. The road from Three Rivers is very twisty so if you get car sick, beware.

Visited this park during the Easter weekend. Was wonderful to witness the largest tree in the world. Trails were covered in snow and car chains were required. The sequoia giants are a treat to the eyes.

Arrived at the Entrance Station at 8 am, no waiting. Visited the General Sherman Tree first. Then did the Congress trail, a easy walk about 2 miles. Did also the Big Trees trail, just a little more than a mile. The trees are gigantic, enormous. The road is twist and there was delay due to road repairs.

It’s a beautiful park, but I wouldn’t go here a second time. The road along the serpentines is very tiring and sometimes I get carsick. It’s very convenient that the park has a free bus that stops at all the interesting places. We left the car in the parking lot so as not to have to look for a new parking spot in each place, since there are not enough parking spots everywhere, and went around the park by shuttle.

We went on a Saturday in July. Beautiful to see in person. We took only paved trails for the ease, but still felt like we saw a lot in the 5 hours we were there. Beetle Rock, Big Tree trail, General Sherman Tree, Crescent Meadow, etc. were kinda easy to walk to. I recommend coming here, however go super early. We got into the park at 750am and parking was starting to fill up. We parked in the biggest lot, Giant Forest Museum lot. As we were leaving there were tons cars driving slow and blocking in an attempt to find parking, but my guess is they didn't. The free tram can get busy too by the early afternoon. We were packed in like sardines. Some folks had to wait for the next that will likely be the same. Best / cleanest restrooms were at the Giant Forest Museum. They had indoor plumbing toilets with water inside. All the other ones that we came across on trails were plastic toilets leading down to a large tunneln like pipe and kinda unkept.

Beautiful place, with lots of different types of hikes, some small and some big and many in between, so it is good for families with children and people without children alike. It is interesting to go to the museums and visitor centres to learn about the sequoias, and to visit the General Sherman tree, which is the biggest tree in the world. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

God is great. They are way different than the pictures you see they are massive and thick. The road there was breathtaking and the snow made a contrast between the trees. General Sherman tree is a must to stop by. It’s a bit icy to get to that tree. Almost slipped. This is definitely the place you want to spend time with family. The 35$ fee is worth it.

An absolutely amazing trip through time. Some of these trees are more than 2000 years old and can grow to more than 300 feet. The trees are protected and in a reserve/national park. Their roots can extend upto 200 meters around the base. Recommended to take bug repellant and apply before you enter the forest.

The most impressive collection of trees anywhere in the world! Sequoia is slightly more impressive than Kings Canyon, but you should absolutely visit both.
